ELKHORN CLASSIC BICYCLE RACE

Historic Baker City, Inc. welcomes the Elkhorn Classic Stage Race this weekend (June 18,19,20. The Elkhorn is a 3-day, 4-stage bicycle race in and around the Elkhorn Mountains and headquartered in Baker City. The spectator-friendly time trial and criterium create an exciting atmosphere for participants, teams, and family.

After a distinguished career extending over 15 years, as a sideman, engineer and session player, J.W. has returned to his roots as a singer/songwriter and acoustic guitarist extraordinaire. We are securing tickets for our overnight guests. Steve Folkstead will be handing out the remainder of the tickets. Tickets are free.

Kevin Flynn of the Potter’s Center will be giving
a wheel throwing demonstration upstairs.
Downstairs in Student Gallery this month: Baker Head Start
students. Also, between 5:00 and 8:00pm First Friday is
the Bowl Building Bonanza downstairs in the pottery studio.
This is a free family event to help make ceramic bowls
for “Feed the Arts”. Instructors and supplies included.
Paizano’s Pizza will donate $1 for each bowl built.
The “Feed the Arts” project will culminate in
a buy-a-bowl-soup dinner in November, with all
proceeds benefiting the Crossroads Scholarship Fund.
